Why Game of Thrones wasn’t nominated for the Emmy this year?

Sharing is caring!

One of the biggest disappointments of this year was that Game of Thrones did not contend at the Emmy Awards, held this Sunday in Los Angeles, especially because this season has been a favorite of fans.

The reason that Game of Thrones failed to appear in this year's nominations is that its seventh and final season was released outside the period stipulated by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to enter into competition.

The rules of the awards stipulate that in order to compete, productions should be released between June 1, 2016 and May 31, 2017.

We will have to wait until 2018 to see if the actors and directors will be worthy of an award, which we have no doubt after seeing this season.
